Liz Johnston: Fred Knittle was my father, Evan Johnston’s, good friend. Fred was so great to me, gathering some of his friends together for a wonderful dinner to lift my spirits when my dad was ill and in the hospital. He was a great friend to both Dad and my aunt, Irene Johnston, who worked with him at Clarke School. And i so enjoyed seeing him in ‘Young at Heart!’ He was a very special man.

Kevin O’Dea: We‘ll never forget Mr. Knittle’s solo at the end of the “Young at Heart” movie. Beautiful!
