Memories

Loretta Alper: Alan also worked at the ticket counter at the Pleasant Street Theater when I was a projectionist there in the 80s. His standup comedy act was priceless. He was hilarious, and more importantly, a beautiful soul.

Patty Solomon: Alan was an incredible and brilliant soul, who was always humble, and suffered many hardships. Also the only person I have known that I can describe as angelic. After he passed, his former girlfriend, Laura Kolb-Araujo invited me to a remembrance for him at the Living Theatre where he had performed. I met Judith Malina, one of the founders of this famous experimental theater company. I’ll never forget what she said to me. I said, “I learned so much from him.” And she replied, “We all did.” Rest in power and peace, dear friend.❤️

Tallgirl Beth: I had the pleasure and honor of acting with him. Lovely inside and out.

Stuart Getz: I went to Longmeadow HS with Alan. We were both pretty out of the box for Longmeadow. If you didn’t aspire to go to a “good private school” and then move back home or a town freakishly similar, you were not welcome in Stepford. Add artist to that and you could end up feeling pretty isolated.

Brilliantly talented cat – I miss bumping into him in Hamp. Being brilliant and talented, is a huge pain in the ass. Loved this guy!

Karen J Andrade: I miss my Al so much. I will always love the specialness he brought to us forever. Now, I’m going to get teary.

Lois Ahrens: Wonderful actor.
